Upcycling ….a great way to reuse materials and leave a green footprint.

The good thing about upcycling is that there really are no limits to what you can create. It’s a sustainable, cost-effective option, and anyone can join the upcycling revolution.

Furniture, clothes, fabrics, and often, plastic-bottle spray heads can be fitted on to screw-top glass bottles to create refillables for your homemade cleaning potions.

It’s not just about transforming the old into something new. Upcycling is also about thrift, which has positive environmental benefits of repurposing and reusing items, reducing waste to landfills and the unnecessary manufacture of new goods.

Upcycling existing resources means that we don’t have to use any new raw materials in the production process. Did you know that it takes 2,700 litres of water to produce the cotton needed to make a single t-shirt? Our planet is already running dangerously low on natural resources so it’s a huge help on the environment when people use old items to create new items.

So please think and check your cupboards, before buying something new.

Stay safe, start upcycling and leave a green footprint!
